Billing

Fees & Billing procedures

Metro Health Centre is a bulk-billing practice. We Bulk Bill all Medicare services for patients who are registered with Medicare. Whilst we are a bulk-billing practice, there are certain items that are not covered under the Medicare Benefits Scheme such as the cost of dressings, etc. You will be advised of any fees in advance.

There is a fee involved for patients who are not registered with Medicare and for services that are not covered by Medicare. Below is a summary of these fees. Please speak to our receptionist for all other fees and charges.

  • Brief Consultation (Level A) $50
  • Standard Consultation (Level B) $80
  • Extended Consultation (Level C) $110
  • Long Consultation (Level D) $150

For patients seeking treatment for Workcover, you will need to pay for the consultation on the day. The amount can be claimed back from your employer. Once you have provided us with details, an invoice will be sent directly to the insurance provider.

All patients are required to settle their account in full on the day of consultation. We accept cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

Recalls, Reminders, Referrals & Repeat Scripts

As part of our practice we are dedicated to providing both continuity of care and preventative medicine. We operate a recall and reminder system through phone and mail and may contact you to offer services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please advise reception staff.

For review of test results this is best done in a follow up appointment with your GP. Please allow several days for routine pathology to be processed. Urgent tests are usually available within 24 hours. The practice has a suitable system in place for GP’s to follow up clinically significant results and patients will be contacted to make an appointment as appropriate. As a general rule patient results are not given out over the phone. Please ensure that you book a follow up appointment to see the doctor to find out the result of a test or procedure.

If you need a repeat script or a referral to a specialist, you will need to come in and see the doctor. This is to ensure every aspect of your health is taken into account, and that you are getting the best possible health care.
